i’m packing up a month or three’s worth of stuff today into luggage. tomorrow i set off on my Next Adventure, which is new york city.
i’m excited to be a part-time intern for the producers of the upcoming broadway show next fall. i’m also delighted to get in the city and put together a workshop of an amazing new show i’m directing, volleygirls. there are other fun things which may come together as well: directing a one-act at the barrow group, working as a reader for a casting agent or two, picking up some shifts at the ever-legendary drama book shop, and perhaps even a gig as a census taker, if i can spare the time and pass the test!
the best part, though, will be seeing my friends. reconnecting with a huge community of fantastic people that i haven’t been a part of in a while.
i’m looking forward to a short return engagement in France in may, followed by a new june teaching gig at a high school shakespeare intensive in new orleans, follwed by triumphant july returns to the heifetz international music institute and the broadway theatre project, follwed by the rest of my life!
monica will finish shooting season two here in LA, and forward my mail like the amazing personal assistant she is. although the post-its with love notes on them aren’t very professional. but i keep her on.
i’m excited about new babies that are here and almost here in my extended family, and i’ll miss my beautiful nieces during the weeks that i’m away.
life continues to surprise, and decide what my story will be. i’m all ears!
